Hyperfocus on the Third Temple of God is common among observant Jews.
Jews are excited by the prospect of the Temple so they can make offerings to God. They act as if God didn't destroy the Temples
because of spiritual failures which are the substance, i.e., the tochen of Jewish life.
It is wiser to focus not on the dmoot, i.e., the physical manifestations of Israel's
grandeur, but on the spiritual, substantative obligations which have YET TO BE ACTUALIZED after 2000 years. Better
than to long for the Temple and Dmoot is the pursuing of character transformation which is the true FOUNDATION for Israel's
material life and Temple function.
If Israel were ready for God to provide the Third Temple, we would be living in a Jewish
world with a spiritual context for every human endeavor. We would have a spiritually animated military whose fear of God would
have neutralized all enemies once and for all. We would have a world interested in learning how to partake of all the blessings
our people would be enjoying. Jewish song would not be a grandmother-like wail or a titter - a loud titter at best, but still
a titter. If we were truly animated by love of God and fear of God we would not be listening to titters and wails in
shul; we would be hearing the voices of JUBILATION.
